Turkey poll shows AK Party edging ahead of CHP ahead of election

Two recent opinion polls in Turkey indicate that the ruling AK Party is leading the field. The MLS survey conducted on 29‑30 June with 2,250 respondents measured AK Party support at 33.4%, while the Piar poll carried out from 28 June to 1 July with 2,280 participants recorded a slightly higher 34.6% for AK Party.

CHP is the main challenger, receiving 29.1% in the MLS poll and 30% in the Piar poll. Smaller parties trail: MHP around 8‑9%, DEM Party about 8½%, and the Good Party (İYİ) below the 7% threshold (5.5% in MLS, 6.3% in Piar). The polls also asked about Özgür Özel, a former CHP leader; roughly two‑thirds (60‑61%) said he should remain in CHP, while about one‑third (33‑34%) supported him founding a new party.
