Turkey poll shows demand for early election, opposition ahead of Erdogan

A June 26‑28, 2026 survey by ANK‑AR Research interviewed 2,404 Turkish voters. 83.4% said the economy is poorly managed and 56.5% called for an early election. In three presidential match‑ups, opposition candidates led President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Ekrem İmamoğlu 44.6% vs Erdogan 35.8%; Mansur Yavaş 46.2% vs Erdogan 32.4%; Özgür Özel 42.4% vs Erdogan 37.6%. Only 25.8% supported an absolute boycott of the CHP congress, while 39.6% favored Özel forming a new party and 24.2% preferred he remain in the CHP. Over half (52.8%) viewed recent operations against CHP‑run municipalities as political, and 43.9% doubted the Kurdish issue would be resolved.

The poll reflects strong economic dissatisfaction and a clear appetite for an early vote, with opposition figures consistently outpacing Erdogan in voter intention.
