Turkey warns of widespread thunderstorms and rain across many provinces in early June 2026

The Meteorology General Directorate (MGM) issued a national weather outlook for 8‑12 June 2026. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies nationwide with scattered thunderstorms and localised heavy rain in several regions. Expected rain areas include the Trakya region, western and eastern Black Sea interior, the inner Mediterranean (Toroslar), the northern districts of Van and Bitlis, and the north‑eastern part of Ankara. Other provinces listed for showers are Afyonkarahisar, Denizli, Konya, Karaman, Çankırı, Muş, Isparta, Edirne, Kırklareli and many others. Temperatures are expected to stay near seasonal norms, reaching up to 37 °C in Şanlıurfa, 35 °C in Diyarbakır and 35 °C in Denizli, while most other cities remain in the low‑30s. Winds will be generally light from the north, with occasional moderate gusts. No national weather warnings were issued, and the overall outlook suggests no significant temperature shifts but intermittent localized rain and thunderstorms.
