Turkey projected to rank 17th in global economy by 2030

Economic data from the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) highlight Turkey's position in the evolving global economy. According to World Bank data covering the period from 1990 to 2025, Turkey ranks 25th globally in terms of real GDP per capita growth, having seen a 206 percent increase. During this 35-year span, Turkey's real GDP per capita rose from 12.2 thousand dollars to an estimated 37.3 thousand dollars.

Looking toward 2030, IMF projections suggest Turkey's nominal GDP will reach 1.934 trillion dollars, positioning the country as the 17th largest economy in the world and accounting for approximately 1.3 percent of the global economy.

On a global scale, the IMF predicts the world economy will exceed 150.3 trillion dollars by 2030. The United States is expected to remain the largest economy with a GDP of 37.678 trillion dollars, followed by China at 26.047 trillion dollars. Other major projected economies for 2030 include Germany and India, which are expected to be nearly equal in size, and the United Kingdom, Japan, and France.
