Turkey promotes regional eco-tourism through new hiking routes
Local organizations and municipalities in Turkey are promoting regional eco-tourism through new hiking initiatives. In Muş, the Genç Adımlar Association has launched the ‘Adımlarla Keşfet Projesi’ (Discover with Steps Project) with support from the Ministry of Interior. The project has identified 20 distinct hiking routes, including the Kızılağaç Canyon, Kurtik Mountain, and Sazlıkbaşı Nature Park, which are now accessible digitally to help promote the region's natural and cultural heritage.
In Osmaniye, the local municipality has organized a nature walk in the Kengerli area scheduled for Sunday, October 11. The event features a 5-kilometer trail designed to be accessible for beginners, consisting primarily of downhill paths. The municipality encourages participants to follow environmental protection guidelines, emphasizing the principle of leaving nothing behind but footprints.
