Turkey raises credit limits for artisans and small businesses

The Treasury‑backed credit program for Turkish artisans and craftsmen was expanded. Effective 29 July 2026, the maximum limit for business loans rose from 1 million TL to 1.5 million TL, while investment‑related credits – including workplace acquisition, vehicle purchase and equipment loans – were increased to 3.5 million TL.

The changes were promoted by TESKOMB (the Artisans and Craftspeople Credit and Guarantee Cooperative Union) and credited to the efforts of TESKOMB General President and AK Party Yozgat MP Abdulkadir Akgül. Birol Dündar, head of the Ardahan Artisans and Craftspeople Credit Cooperative, and Bolat Ünsal, president of the Kemer Artisans Cooperative, both praised the higher limits as a major boost for financing small‑scale enterprises.

The revised limits apply to Hazine (Treasury) interest‑subsidised loans and are intended to make financing more accessible for micro‑businesses seeking to expand operations, acquire new premises, or purchase machinery and vehicles.
