Turkey's TÜBİTAK launches clean‑tech accelerator programs ahead of COP31

Turkey’s Scientific and Technological Research Council (TÜBİTAK) announced new funding calls and accelerator programmes to support clean‑technology startups as the country prepares to host the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya from 9‑20 November. The initiatives – the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) Turkey Accelerator 2026 and the Inclusive Green Transition Accelerator 2026 – are open for applications until 3 August. They target firms developing solutions in energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste valorisation, water efficiency, green buildings, sustainable transport, and advanced materials or chemicals.

Participating teams will receive mentorship, technology validation and investment‑readiness assistance, with cash awards for top performers: 700,000 TL for first place, 500,000 TL for second and 400,000 TL for third. Women‑led startups will receive dedicated support and awards of 300,000 TL each. The programmes are run in cooperation with the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and several Turkish ministries, aiming to help startups commercialise their technologies, attract investment and enter both domestic and international markets ahead of COP31.
