Turkey implements various regulatory and legal enforcement actions

Various regulatory and administrative actions are being implemented across Turkey. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry reported that 756,000 food inspections since January 1, 2026, resulted in 1.6 billion lira in fines, with 254 cases referred to prosecutors for threatening public health.

Regarding environmental and safety issues, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced that 73 forest fires across 25 provinces have led to 46 suspects being identified, with 12 arrests and 21 judicial controls. In Alanya, authorities launched legal proceedings against a four-star hotel for discharging grey water into a storm drain, causing pollution and odors.

In the commercial sector, the Ministry of Trade fined 42 real estate firms and 40 auto galleries a total of 8.2 million lira for failing to disclose prices in social media advertisements, specifically targeting the “Price for DM” practice. Meanwhile, urban transformation efforts continue in Elazığ and Zeytinburnu, with thousands of housing units being renovated or rebuilt following earthquake damage and safety assessments.

Local municipal services also reported ongoing activities, including water meter replacements in Antalya, canal cleaning in Kemer, and enforcement against unauthorized public space occupations in Kepez.
