Turkey experiences multiple earthquakes in Ankara and Manisa
Multiple seismic events were recorded across various regions of Turkey on September 3, 2026. In the Kalecik district of Ankara, two earthquakes occurred within one minute of each other, measuring 3.9 and 3.1 in magnitude.
In Manisa, a 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck the Yunusemre district at a depth of 8.52 kilometers, with tremors felt in nearby İzmir and other surrounding provinces.
Other minor seismic activities were reported in Malatya, Denizli, Sivas, Balıkesir, and Kahramanmaraş. Experts noted that while many of these tremors were low in magnitude, they have drawn significant public attention. In the Kalecik and Çankırı areas, seismic activity has been observed intermittently over the last 15 years, with recent tremors occurring near the Çankırı Fault.
