Turkey records multiple serious traffic accidents injuring children and dozens

A car struck a 4‑5‑year‑old child crossing a pedestrian lane on 12th Cadde in the Beşevler neighbourhood of Batman, leaving the child seriously injured. The child was taken to Batman İluh State Hospital, and local residents demanded immediate traffic‑safety measures such as speed‑reducing devices and more visible pedestrian signs.

In Istanbul, a midibus lost steering control on the TEM highway in Sultangazi and collided with barriers, overturning and injuring twelve passengers, including a child. All injured were transported to hospitals for treatment, and the bus driver was taken for police questioning. Traffic was temporarily halted before normal flow resumed.

Both incidents have sparked calls for stricter road‑safety enforcement and infrastructure improvements to protect pedestrians and passengers.
