Turkey electricity installed capacity reaches 126,476 MW

Turkey's total installed electricity capacity reached 126,476 megawatts as of the end of July, according to data from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that renewable energy sources now account for 62.8% of this total, representing 79,433 megawatts.

Within the renewable sector, solar power contributes 27,507 megawatts (21.7% of total capacity), while wind power provides 15,358 megawatts (12.1% of total capacity). Combined, solar and wind energy make up 33.8% of the nation's total installed capacity. Other significant contributors include hydroelectric power at 25.6% and natural gas at 19.9%. The share of domestic resources in the total capacity stands at 71.9%.

Separately, various regions across Turkey are experiencing localized utility disruptions. Planned electricity outages for maintenance and infrastructure upgrades have been announced for Siirt, Bolu, Konya, Van, Izmir, Bursa, Trabzon, and Eskişehir. Additionally, water supply interruptions due to network faults have been reported in several districts of Balıkesir and Izmir.
