Turkey releases 10,000 beneficial insects in Denizli and inspects crops in Aydın

The Denizli Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry released 10,000 beneficial insects into pomegranate orchards in Pamukkale to combat the citrus mealybug (Planococcus citri). The release included 4,000 Cryptolaemus montrouzieri, which preys on the pest, and 6,000 Leptomastix dactylopii, a parasitic wasp that lays eggs inside the pest.

In Aydın’s Köşk district, agricultural teams carried out field inspections of tomato, cotton and sunflower crops. Technicians examined pest‑monitoring traps installed under the Integrated Pest Management programmes and assessed seed germination and plant health as part of the TAKE project, aiming to support farmers and reduce pesticide use.
