Turkey rent increase rate set at 31.79 percent for September 2026

Following the release of August inflation data by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the legal rent increase rate for September 2026 has been set at 31.79 percent. This rate is determined based on the twelve-month average of the Consumer Price Index (TÜFE).

According to the data, the TÜFE increased by 1.84 percent month-on-month in August 2026. The annual increase in TÜFE was recorded at 31.51 percent, while the twelve-month average change stood at 31.79 percent. This latter figure serves as the ceiling for rent increases in residential and workplace contracts being renewed in September.

For example, a monthly rent of 15,000 TL would increase by 4,768.50 TL, resulting in a new monthly total of 19,768.50 TL. Similarly, a 30,000 TL rent would see an increase of 9,537 TL, bringing the new monthly payment to 39,537 TL.
