Turkey requests Red Notice for Benjamin Netanyahu

Turkey's Ministry of Justice has officially requested an Interpol Red Notice for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskovitch. The request follows an arrest warrant issued by the Istanbul 11th High Criminal Court on July 14, 2026.

The legal action stems from an investigation into an armed intervention against the Global Sumud Flotilla, a group of activists attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza in international waters. The court is currently prosecuting 35 defendants in connection with the incident.

Netanyahu and Moskovitch face multiple charges, including genocide, crimes against humanity, unlawful deprivation of liberty, intentional injury, torture, property damage, qualified looting, and hijacking of transport vehicles. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek stated that the Ministry of Justice has submitted the request to the Ministry of Interior and forwarded the necessary documentation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate international pursuit.
