Turkey rolls out driver‑license course installment financing and ends vehicle‑inspection card fees

A new financing model launched by the Bakiyem platform will let prospective drivers in Turkey apply for credit at the time of driver‑license course registration and spread tuition payments over up to six months. The scheme targets the steep rise in course fees, which have climbed from around 1,000‑1,500 TL a few years ago to roughly 40,000‑45,000 TL today. It will be available in all 81 provinces across roughly 3,600 driving schools, with the rollout beginning in July 2026.

Separately, a regulatory change set for 15 August 2027 will eliminate the surcharge currently imposed on credit‑card and bank‑card payments for vehicle‑inspection services. The new operator, TURKA, will run the inspections through 249 fixed stations and an initial fleet of 100 mobile units, later expanding to 250 mobile sites. The removal of the card‑payment commission is intended to lower out‑of‑pocket costs for millions of vehicle owners nationwide.
