Turkey second-hand car market sees monthly recovery in July
The Turkish automotive market experienced a divergence in July, with new vehicle sales declining sharply while the second-hand market saw a limited monthly recovery. New car and light commercial vehicle sales fell by 25% compared to the previous year, totaling 80,786 units.
In contrast, second-hand automobile sales rose by approximately 5% month-on-month, increasing from 326,678 units in June to 342,305 in July. Despite this monthly uptick, annual second-hand sales remain down about 10% compared to July of the previous year. The average time vehicles remain in stock also decreased slightly, dropping from 50 days in June to 49 days in July for passenger cars.
