Turkey second-hand car sales rise in Q3 2026
Second-hand automobile sales in Turkey reached approximately 1.84 million units in the third quarter of 2026, surpassing the 1.72 million units sold in the second quarter. During this period, the ratio of used car sales to new car sales increased from 7.4 to 8.8.
Despite the quarterly growth, total sales for the third quarter decreased by 9% compared to the same period last year due to a general market contraction. In the new car market, sales fell by 9.6% compared to the second quarter. Within the used car segment, C-segment vehicles held a 51.8% market share, followed by B-segment vehicles at 29.9%.
Renault was the leading brand in the third-quarter used car market, followed by Fiat and Volkswagen. The most popular models were the Fiat Egea, Renault Clio, and Renault Megane.
Regarding pricing, second-hand car prices rose by 1% in September, the highest monthly increase in six months, though the annual increase of 8% remains below inflation. Data indicates that 55% of listings are for vehicles priced below 1 million TL.
