Togg T10X performance and Turkish market stagnation
Overview
The Turkish electric vehicle model Togg T10X has demonstrated technical and commercial strength amid shifting market conditions.
An assessment of electric vehicle longevity ranked the Togg T10X ninth globally, evaluating its motor technology, battery management, and thermal management. The ranking placed the model alongside major manufacturers such as Tesla, BYD, and Hyundai.
In the Turkish automotive market, the T10X became the top-selling model in August 2026, recording 2,939 sales. This occurred during a significant contraction in the broader sector, where total sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles fell 20.28% year-on-year to 81,031 units. Specifically, passenger car sales dropped 25.16% to 61,529 units. For the first eight months of the year, the total market declined by 11.91% to 719,996 units.
Despite this downturn, Togg maintained a strong presence; the T10F model also shared a top sales rank with the Kia Sportage in August. While Renault, Volkswagen, and Toyota remained leading brands, Togg’s models secured positions within the top five monthly sales. Consumer trends indicate a strong preference for SUV models, which accounted for 66.1% of the market.
By September 2026, the market entered a period of stagnation, with sales volumes down approximately 25% compared to the previous year. High bank interest rates and a preference for alternative assets like gold and foreign currency have contributed to weak demand. To clear inventory, various brands have introduced significant discounts. Industry officials note that Togg acts as a “critical force in regulating the market,” as its presence has pressured foreign and Chinese manufacturers to adjust their pricing strategies.
