Turkey sees rockfall and bus crash amid heavy rains
Heavy rainfall in Turkey caused a rockfall on the Black Sea coastal highway in Rize province, sending large stones onto the road and halting traffic. No injuries were reported; police and road crews were dispatched to clear the debris and secure the route.
On the Kırıkkale‑Samsun highway in central Turkey, a passenger bus traveling from Bursa toward Kars overturned after losing control on an wet surface. Of the 42 people aboard, 29 were injured. Emergency responders including AFAD, UMKE, fire, police, gendarmerie and medical teams rescued the victims and transferred them to hospitals for treatment.
