Turkey's Public Property Sales Reach 52.2 Billion Lira Over Five Years

According to data from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change's General Directorate of State Property, sales of state-owned real estate generated a total of 52,236,559,000 Turkish lira between 2021 and 2025. Land sales grew from 3.776 billion lira in 2021 to 19.282 billion lira in 2025, a rise of more than 410 %. Over the five‑year period, land sales alone contributed 23.347 billion lira, while combined land and plot sales amounted to 24.634 billion lira.

Revenue from 2B‑classified properties also accelerated, reaching 5.782 billion lira in 2025 and totaling 13.809 billion lira across the period. Sales of public housing generated 3.108 billion lira, and social facility sales added 1.116 million lira. The report noted that the Republican People’s Party (CHP) has filed a lawsuit against the privatisation of 55 properties, and the Organisation of Investment and Development (OIB) plans to list 15 assets for sale in Istanbul, İzmir and Antalya.
