Turkey court‑ordered property auctions expand
Overview
State‑owned real‑estate sales generated approximately 52.2 billion lira between 2021 and 2025, with land sales alone increasing by over 410% during that period. This trend has prompted legal challenges, including a lawsuit by the Republican People’s Party (CHP) against the privatisation of 55 properties.
Throughout mid-2026, enforcement courts have scheduled numerous forced auctions to settle debts. In July, notices included residential units in Gaziantep’s Şehitkamil district (valued at 12.25 million lira) and Istanbul’s Bayrampaşa district, alongside mixed‑use assets in Nevşehir and Büyükçekmece. Other scheduled items included a 2023 Citraen SUV (≈2.06 million lira), a Beylikdüzü apartment, and the CHP’s former Mersin provincial headquarters (179 million lira).
By late July and early August, auction lists expanded to include:
• Iğdır: Two parcels valued between 2.1 and 8.2 million lira. • Ankara: A 513 m² parcel (8.16 million lira) and two 2025 FIAT vehicles. • Konya: 728 m² of land (2 million lira). • Eskişehir: An 11,158 m² agricultural plot and a half‑share of a Tepebaşı property. • İzmir: A 69 m² apartment (3.4 million lira). • Van: A property in İpekyolu valued at approximately 86 million lira. • Çanakkale: Irrigated agricultural lands in Gelibolu. • Istanbul: A 2014 Audi A4 (250,000 lira).
Most auctions are overseen by the Ministry of Privatization and local execution directorates, with bidding windows primarily set for September and October 2026.
