Turkey sets 2026 school year start date and launches summer program

Turkey's Ministry of National Education announced that the 2026‑2027 academic year will begin on Monday, 14 September 2026. An orientation week for pre‑school children and first‑grade students is scheduled for 7‑11 September, and student registration will be carried out automatically through the e‑Okul system.

The Niğde Halk Education Center will run a summer school program from 1 July to 31 August 2026, offering courses in music, visual arts, robotics coding, English, sports and other areas. Applications are open until 3 July and require a minimum number of participants before the courses can commence.
