Turkey shows strong potential in egg sector, says TVHB President
Ali Eroğlu, President of the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association (TVHB), highlighted Turkey’s significant potential in the egg sector, citing its advanced poultry production infrastructure, trained human resources, and production capacity.
Speaking on the occasion of World Egg Day, Eroğlu emphasized the nutritional importance of eggs, noting their high biological value and role in raising healthy generations. This year’s theme, ‘Protein that Empowers and Protects,’ underscores the importance of eggs as a source of essential amino acids, vitamins (A, D, E, and B groups), and minerals such as iron, selenium, phosphorus, and zinc.
Eroğlu also addressed global challenges including population growth, climate change, rising production costs, animal diseases, and vulnerabilities in the global food supply chain. He noted that maintaining the nutritional value of eggs and ensuring they reach consumers reliably is a strategic public health matter.
