Turkey stocks water resources with juvenile fish in Kars and Konya

Under the “Water Resources Stocking Project” led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, significant efforts are underway to enhance aquatic resources in various Turkish regions.

In Kars, 500,000 juvenile carp, raised at the Elazığ Keban Fisheries Enterprise, were released into the Bayburt Dam Lake. The fish were transported in oxygenated containers to ensure survival. Enver Aydın, the Kars Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, stated that the initiative aims to strengthen the local fish population and promote the sustainable use of natural water resources.

Additionally, in the Güneysınır district of Konya, 50,000 juvenile fish were released into local ponds. This action, coordinated by the Konya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, is part of the same national project to develop and protect regional aquatic resources.
