Turkey targets $70 billion in tourism revenue by 2027
Turkey aims to reach $70 billion in tourism revenue by 2027, supported by a proposed increase in sector funding. The government's 2027 central budget proposal allocates $244.5 million to tourism, a nearly 30% increase from the current $188.4 million.
This financial plan aligns with Turkey's Medium-Term Program, which sets progressive revenue targets: $73.5 billion for 2028 and $78.5 billion for 2029. Last year, the country achieved a record $65.2 billion in tourism revenue.
According to data from the World Tourism Organization, Turkey is projected to rise from seventh to sixth place in global tourism revenue rankings by 2027. If these targets are met, the country could reach fifth place globally by 2028.
