Turkey to hold YÖKDİL/2 exam for 104,529 candidates on Aug 9

The Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) announced that the Yükseköğretim Kurumları Yabancı Dil Sınavı (YÖKDİL/2) will be administered on Sunday, 9 August, across 81 provinces in 87 test centers. About 300 buildings and 4,165 rooms will host the exam, which starts at 10:15 a.m. and lasts 180 minutes.

A total of 104,529 candidates will sit the test: 100,774 in English, 2,545 in Arabic, 822 in German and 388 in French. The subjects covered are health sciences, social sciences and natural sciences, with 80 multiple‑choice questions on vocabulary, grammar, translation and reading comprehension. Special arrangements are provided for 339 disabled candidates, 746 veterans or families of martyrs, and 109 inmates; 43 prison facilities have been adapted for the exam. Results are scheduled for 26 August and will be valid for five years for graduate‑level language requirements and indefinitely for academic staff appointments.

ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy emphasized that the exam outcomes will be accepted by the Council of Higher Education and other institutions that require proof of foreign‑language proficiency.
