Turkey 2026 ALES exam

The Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) conducted the 2026 Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES/2) on 2 August 2026 in all 81 Turkish provinces, using 395 buildings and 5,895 rooms. The two‑hour‑fifty‑minute test featured 100 questions (50 verbal, 50 numerical) and attracted 152,449 candidates, including 643 candidates with disability accommodations. About 20,682 staff members were deployed, and fee exemptions were granted to 1,268 veterans and families of martyrs.

Candidates arriving after 10:00 a.m. were not admitted; the exam ran from 10:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. ÖSYM opened access to the basic question booklet and answer key, publishing 10 % of the material on 2 August and allowing full viewing through the AİS portal until 23:59 on 12 August. Entry documents for the related 2026 YÖKDİL/2 exam were released on 30 July, showing building, hall and seat assignments.

Candidate feedback described the verbal section as containing long passages and closely spaced answer options, while the quantitative part was moderate in difficulty but demanding in time management.

ÖSYM announced that the YÖKDİL/2 foreign‑language exam will be held on 9 August 2026 across 81 provinces in 87 centres (about 300 buildings and 4,165 rooms). A total of 104,529 candidates will sit the 180‑minute test in English, Arabic, German and French, with special arrangements for disabled candidates, veterans, families of martyrs, and inmates. Results for YÖKDİL/2 are scheduled for 26 August, and ALES/2 results for 21 August; both will be posted on ÖSYM’s results portal and the AİS mobile app, with scores valid for five years for graduate admissions and indefinitely for academic staff appointments.
