Turkey to pay 217.2 million lira to veterans and martyrs' relatives
Turkey's Minister of Labour and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, has announced a series of improvements to the rights and benefits of martyrs' relatives, veterans, and their families. As part of these regulations, a total of 217,218,950 Turkish Lira will be paid to 25,099 eligible citizens on September 11, 2026.
The improvements include raising the monthly payments for mothers and/or fathers to the level of the net minimum wage and increasing care fees by 25 percent. Additionally, monthly payments have been increased for personnel under the Anti-Terror Law, including non-commissioned officers, privates, security guards, and military and police students.
Other measures include increases in pensions for those injured due to terrorist activities under Decree Law No. 684, the first-time granting of pensions to certain July 15 veterans, and the implementation of promotions for duty-injured personnel as of September 1. Payments will be transferred to existing monthly accounts, while new pensions for July 15 veterans will be deposited into supplementary payment accounts.
