Turkey's Trade Ministry fines unauthorized used‑car dealers up to 1.4 million lira
The Turkish Trade Ministry announced that businesses selling second‑hand motor vehicles must hold an official license. So far, 84,804 enterprises have received such permits.
Recent inspections identified 176 individuals and companies operating without a license. They were fined between 400,680 and 1,402,380 Turkish lira each, resulting in total administrative penalties of 102 million lira. Penalties imposed in 2026 alone exceeded 108 million lira, bringing the cumulative amount since the programme began to 305 million lira.
The ministry said the inspections will continue to curb unregistered activity, protect consumers and create a fairer market for vehicle trade.
