Turkey trade with Turkic republics reaches $9.4 billion in H1

Turkey's trade with Turkic republics reached a total volume of 9.4 billion dollars in the first half of the year, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). During this period, Turkey exported 5 billion dollars worth of goods to these nations and imported 4.4 billion dollars, resulting in a trade surplus of 614.9 million dollars.

Kazakhstan was the primary export destination, accounting for 1.5 billion dollars. Other major partners included Azerbaijan (1.4 billion dollars), Uzbekistan (945.6 million dollars), Kyrgyzstan (594.4 million dollars), and Turkmenistan (583.6 million dollars).

Economic cooperation is expanding in sectors such as energy, transportation, logistics, agriculture, defense, and construction. Turkey and Kazakhstan are specifically working toward a 15 billion dollar trade target. Strategic initiatives include the Middle Corridor railway agreement to increase freight capacity via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line and defense industry collaborations, such as the production and maintenance of ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Kazakhstan.
