Turkey transfers Farmer Registration System processes to local Chambers

The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is implementing a reform to transfer Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) processes to local Chambers of Agriculture. This initiative aims to reduce bureaucratic workloads at provincial and district agriculture directorates by allowing farmers to complete file submissions and data entry directly at the Chambers.

Mehmet Kilci, Deputy General Manager of Agricultural Reform, recently visited the Tarsus Chamber of Agriculture to inspect the field implementation of this protocol. The pilot program includes 46 provinces, with physical ÇKS applications for the 2027 production year scheduled to be handled by Chambers starting September 1, 2026.

On a local level, the Malazgirt Chamber of Agriculture has demonstrated the practical application of this decentralized service by conducting home visits. In one instance, staff traveled to the residence of an elderly and ill farmer to complete their ÇKS application on-site, ensuring service accessibility for producers unable to visit official buildings.
