Turkey Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu Announces New Road and Rail Projects
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu met with Antalya MP Atay Uslu to review accelerated road works in western Antalya. Projects include widening the Finike‑Elmalı route to cut travel time to 37 minutes, expanding the Kasaba‑Finike corridor, widening the Kumluca crossing, and planning a coastal Mediterranean highway with future tunnels. A second yacht marina for mega‑yachts in Finike is also nearing completion.
Uraloğlu also detailed the “Kalkınma Yolu” development corridor, starting with a 2,088‑km rail link and a 1,912‑km highway segment. The plan ties the route to Iraq, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, featuring the new Fav Port in the Gulf, which will become a major logistics hub. The project is projected to add roughly $55 billion to Turkey’s economy over the next decade and create an alternative transit corridor between the Gulf and Europe.
