Turkey Treasury provides 629 billion lira financing to farmers and artisans

The Turkish Treasury and Ministry of Finance have extended interest‑subsidised credit schemes to agricultural producers and small‑business artisans, delivering a total of 629 billion lira in support. Under the scheme, 449 billion lira has been allocated to farmers and 180 billion lira to artisans up to the end of June 2025.

The programme, launched for farmers in 2004 and for artisans in 2002, routes loans through Ziraat Bank, Ziraat Katılım Bank and the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives for farmers, and Halk Bank for artisans. By the end of 2025, about 1.1 million farmers and 774 000 artisans are expected to have accessed the scheme, with credit balances reaching roughly 833 billion lira for agriculture and 297 billion lira for craftsmen. Interest subsidies cover 25‑100 % of the cost, with the state bearing roughly 70 % of the interest burden on eligible loans.
