Turkey announces major agricultural and livestock subsidy increases
The Turkish Official Gazette has published several presidential decrees regarding significant updates to agricultural and livestock subsidies for the 2026 and 2027 periods. These measures aim to mitigate the impact of rising input costs caused by regional conflicts.
In plant production, the support coefficient per decare has been increased from 310 TL to 367 TL for 2026, with a planned increase to 442 TL for 2027. Notable increases were seen in lentils and chickpeas, where planned production support rose by 141 percent. Other crops, including wheat, barley, corn, sunflower, and cotton, also received updated support rates.
Livestock subsidies have seen substantial adjustments. For 2026, calf support has risen to 2,000 TL and veal support to 4,000 TL. Beekeeping support has also been increased, with rates for union members rising to 250 TL per hive. Additionally, new support for livestock losses in pregnant animals has been introduced.
In Çanakkale, a specific project titled ‘Köyümde Yaşamak İçin Bir Sürü Nedenim Var’ has been launched in cooperation with Ziraat Bank to support small ruminant farming, offering investment credits of up to 2 million TL.
Furthermore, the Gazette detailed various high-level public appointments across ministries including Culture and Tourism, National Education, and Trade, alongside international agreements with the European Commission and the United Nations.
