Turkey advances major bridge, metro, and tramway infrastructure projects

Turkey is advancing several major transportation and infrastructure projects across different regions.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced plans for the Pertek Bridge, which will span the Keban Dam Lake to provide a continuous road connection between Elazığ and Tunceli. The project will utilize an advanced cable-supported, inclined suspension bridge system to navigate water depths of approximately 100 meters. Construction is estimated to take 5 to 6 years once the investment program is finalized.

In Ankara, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is progressing with the Dikimevi-Natoyolu Rail System Extension Project. This 7.46-kilometer line, featuring eight stations, is currently undergoing tunnel excavation and station construction. A Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

In Istanbul, Metro Istanbul will begin a 150-day renovation project at the Aksaray Station on the T1 Tramway Line. The project, which includes platform revisions, electrical upgrades, and structural repairs, is scheduled for tender on September 10, 2026.
