Turkey vehicle costs projected to rise in 2027

Vehicle owners in Turkey are facing significant projected increases in automotive-related costs for 2027. Based on an estimated Revaluation Rate (YDO) of approximately 27%, tax experts anticipate substantial hikes in inspection fees, speeding fines, and Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV).

Automobile inspection fees are expected to rise from 3,288 TL in 2026 to approximately 4,181 TL in 2027. This represents a more than threefold increase compared to 2023 levels. Additionally, the minimum speeding fine is projected to climb from the 2,000 TL level to roughly 2,543 TL.

Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV) is also set for a sharp increase. For vehicles aged 1–3 years with engine capacities between 1301–1600 cc, the annual tax is forecasted to jump from 12,028 TL to approximately 15,294 TL. Final figures will be clarified following the release of inflation data in October.
