Turkey vehicle inspection fees projected to rise in 2027
Vehicle inspection and exhaust gas emission measurement fees in Turkey are projected to increase by approximately 28 percent in 2027. This adjustment is expected to follow the revaluation rate, which is set to be finalized after the October inflation data is released.
If the projected rates are applied, the cost for an automobile inspection would rise from 3,288 TL to 4,208 TL, while the exhaust gas emission measurement fee would increase from 460 TL to 589 TL. Economist Prof. Dr. Hakkı Hakan Yılmaz noted that the revaluation rate could be around 27.85 percent and will be officially determined on November 3.
The President holds the authority to increase or decrease these rates by up to 50 percent under the Tax Procedure Law. Additionally, the President has the power to adjust inspection fees by up to 20 percent every five years, though this discount authority has not been utilized in the past.
