Turkey Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz touts economic growth and stability
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz told a gathering in Tokat that Turkey’s economy has risen from $238 billion to about $1.6 trillion, moving the country to the world’s 16th‑largest economy. He highlighted major infrastructure, health, education and social‑welfare investments that have accompanied the growth.
Yılmaz said the government is working to sustain growth while “the biggest problem we face today is inflation,” stressing that lower inflation remains a top priority. He added that Turkey has kept its stability despite “all the surrounding crises,” noting the country’s active diplomatic role from the Caucasus to the Mediterranean.
During the visit he met local officials, signed the provincial protocol book and underscored the importance of experienced leadership and strong party structures in navigating economic and geopolitical challenges.
