Turkey weather alerts: heavy rain and fog warnings issued

Meteorological forecasts for Turkey indicate significant weather variations across different regions. While some areas will experience warm, sunny conditions, others are facing heavy rain and fog.

In Istanbul, AKOM reports that temperatures are expected to rise toward summer-like levels over the weekend, with sunny skies. However, a sharp change is predicted starting Tuesday, bringing thunderstorms and heavy rainfall that could see up to 40 kg of precipitation per square meter by Thursday.

Other regions face diverse conditions. Parts of the Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, and Southeast Anatolia are under warnings for local thunderstorms and heavy showers. Additionally, fog and haze are expected during the night and early morning hours in the Marmara, North Aegean, and central/eastern Black Sea regions, potentially affecting visibility for drivers.

In provinces like Ankara and Bursa, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with fluctuating temperatures, while Van and its districts will see mostly clear skies with temperatures ranging between 3 and 20 degrees Celsius.
