Turkey weather warnings issued for heavy rain and strong winds

Meteoroloji Genel Müdürlüğü has issued weather warnings for Turkey, forecasting a period of significant weather shifts involving heavy rain, strong winds, and rising temperatures.

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected along the northern coast, specifically affecting the Eastern Black Sea region, Ordu, Samsun, and Sinop. In the Black Sea's interior, fog and haze are anticipated during the morning and night hours. Strong winds, reaching speeds of 40 to 60 km/h, are forecasted for the southwestern Marmara and Northern Aegean regions, prompting warnings regarding potential transportation disruptions.

Following the rainy period, temperatures are expected to rise significantly across much of the country. By the weekend, temperatures in several provinces are projected to reach high levels, with some areas like Antalya and Lapseki potentially seeing highs between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius. While much of the country will experience clear or partly cloudy skies, localized thunderstorms may persist in the Mediterranean and Eastern Anatolia regions.
