Turkey weather warnings prompt school closure inquiries

Meteorological warnings for heavy rainfall across various regions of Turkey have led to public speculation regarding potential school closures. While heavy precipitation is expected in several provinces, no nationwide decision has been made to suspend education.

In Southeast Anatolia, warnings have been issued for provinces including Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, Şanlıurfa, and Hatay. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of flash floods and localized hail. In the Marmara and North Aegean regions, yellow alerts have been issued for provinces such as Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Edirne, İzmir, and Tekirdağ.

Authorities emphasize that weather warnings do not automatically result in school holidays. Decisions regarding the suspension of classes must be officially announced by local governorships or relevant provincial directorates of national education.
