Yeni Parti Özgür Özel polls AK Party opposition

Recent opinion polls show the newly formed Yeni Parti rapidly gaining voter support in Turkey. Surveys by Areda (29‑31 July) recorded AK Party at 35.3 % and Yeni Parti at 16.6 %, while the CHP fell to 12.2 %. Optimar’s July poll placed AK Party at 34.24 % and Yeni Parti at 12.55 %, with the CHP at 16.25 %. The Türkiye Veri Haritası poll listed Yeni Parti first with 31.2 % of the vote, ahead of the AK Party’s 29.2 % and the CHP’s 4.8 %. Across the polls, the combined vote share of Yeni Parti and CHP consistently hovered around 28.8 %.

Yeni Parti, led by former CHP MP Özgür Özel, now controls 91 seats in the Turkish parliament. Party officials report that organisational work has been completed in 60 of Turkey’s 61 provinces, and more than 200 municipalities have expressed interest in joining the party. The rapid rise of Yeni Parti is reshaping the opposition landscape ahead of the next general election.
