Turkey‑Egypt trade climbs to $9 billion as 2026 volume spikes 15%

Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen said trade between Turkey and Egypt grew 15% in the first four months of 2026, reaching $3 billion and putting the partnership on track for a record $9 billion by year‑end, up from roughly $8 billion in 2025.

Şen outlined steps to deepen the economic link, including expanded air routes, new Ro‑Ro ferry services and ongoing rail and road projects. Turkish companies plan fresh investments in West Kantara, 10 Ramadan City and Ain Sokhna, aiming to match or exceed the $500 million invested last year. He also noted that military cooperation and joint diplomatic efforts on regional issues continue alongside the commercial push.
