Turkey's AK Party Highlights: Yayman Says Atatürk Would Oust CHP Leaders, Diyarbakır Chairmanship Discussed

AK Party deputy chairman and culture policy chief Hüseyin Yayman told a party assembly in Kütahya that, if Atatürk were alive, he would dismiss the current CHP leadership. Yayman framed the CHP’s internal disputes as a crisis and invoked Atatürk’s legacy to criticize the opposition.

In Diyarbakır, the AK Party is weighing several names for the provincial chairmanship. Party officials, including regional coordinators and MPs, will interview candidates before a final decision by the central leadership. Party members are calling for a candidate who is visible, accessible to citizens, and capable of bridging the party with local concerns.
