Turkey's AK Party Prepares 25th Anniversary Celebrations

The Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is gearing up for its 25th founding anniversary on 14 August 2026. A special newspaper titled “Çeyrek Asır” will be printed to chronicle the party’s projects, reforms, election victories and international milestones since 2001, and will be distributed to attendees at the main ceremony in Ankara’s Başkent Millet Bahçesi, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to address the crowd. The celebration will also feature stage shows, visual presentations and the handing out of commemorative medals.

Local preparations are underway across the country. In Kuşadası, district chairman Fatih Sarıgöz led a board meeting to plan regional activities, emphasizing the party’s continued “faith and determination.” The AK Party’s media and promotion directorate is coordinating events in all 81 provinces, ensuring that the anniversary program extends beyond Ankara and reaches citizens nationwide.
