Turkey's Anahtar Party records 232% membership surge as AK Party adds over 1,000 local officials
The Anahtar Party, led by Afyonkarahisar provincial chair Üzeyir Aladağ, announced that its membership rose from 42,851 to 142,083 in the past year – a 232.31% increase, the highest proportional growth among Turkish parties.
In Aydın, the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) held a rally where 391 muhtars and 619 village heads (azalar) formally joined the party, bringing the total of new local officials to 1,010. Party officials highlighted the need for unity and service to citizens.
Both events underscore rapid expansion of party bases ahead of upcoming elections, reflecting shifting public expectations toward solution‑oriented politics.
