Turkey's Ankara and İzmir Reservoir Levels Dip Slightly

Ankara's reservoir system recorded a marginal decline, with the overall storage ratio falling to 49.21% from 49.22% and the active usable water ratio at 43.30% (564 million m³). The latest figures show 715 million m³ total stored, 1.537 million m³ of inflow and 1.489 million m³ of outflow, primarily from the Çamlıdere and Kurtboğazı dams.

In İzmir, the Tahtalı reservoir's active fill slipped to 53.92% (down 0.56 points) and the Gördes reservoir dropped to 40.69% after a 176,000 m³ drawdown. Gördes now accounts for 25.3% of the city's daily water production (697,000 m³), becoming the largest source, while Tahtalı supplies 17.3%.

Both cities are monitoring daily measurements as summer demand rises, aiming to balance water use with the decreasing reservoir levels.
