Turkey's Arsin and Arnavutköy host summer festivals highlighting regional culture and products

The Arsin Municipality launched the third edition of the Arsin Culture, Tourism, Art and Local Products Festival at Arsin Coastal Park. Over three days (July 25‑27), the program featured concerts by Aykut Özer, Sinan Yılmaz and DJ Ceren Polat, as well as cultural performances and stalls selling regional foods. The event, hosted by local personality Hüseyin Şengül, aims to promote the town’s cultural heritage and tourism potential.

Meanwhile, the Arnavutköy Municipality held the third Yeniköy Watermelon Festival on Karaburun Beach, distributing 10 tonnes of sliced watermelon for free and organizing competitions such as the Heavy Watermelon and Watermelon Carrying contests. Folk music groups performed, and officials including Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and former EU minister Egemen Bağış attended. The festival seeks to brand the Yeniköy watermelon, boost local agriculture and provide family‑friendly entertainment.
