Turkey's Arsuz District Boosts Fish Export to Europe

Kaymakam Fatih Eroğlu visited the Pirinçlik Mahallesi fish‑harvest sites in Arsuz, Hatay, to observe production procedures. He met with business owner Orhan Ünçel, district agriculture director Serkan Yılmaz and staff, reviewing harvest planning, health checks and shipment protocols.

The two aquaculture facilities in Arsuz operate on about 730,000 m² of sea area, producing roughly 16,000 tonnes of seabream and sea bass each year. Most of the catch—primarily exported to Italy, Spain and Portugal—supports local employment and adds significant value to Turkey’s seafood export sector.
