Turkey's CHP chief Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu unveils new manifesto plan and weekly press briefings

After being appointed chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu announced that the party is preparing a new period manifesto. The document will outline a restructured organisational model that centralises decision‑making, introduces performance assessments for provincial leaders and proposes amendments to the party statute.

Kılıçdaroğlu also said the CHP will hold weekly press conferences to address current social problems, starting with the economic difficulties faced by pensioners. The briefings are intended to present the party’s solutions and increase direct contact with citizens. An upcoming Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting on 10 July is expected to discuss further leadership changes at provincial and district levels.
